1. This website does not collect personal data
This website is for information only. It has no contact forms, no sign-up, no user accounts and no newsletter. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tools. We do not collect, record or store any personal data through this website.
As with any website, the hosting provider and Google Fonts receive standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) that is needed to deliver the page to your browser. We do not access, use or keep this information.
2. When Personal Data is collected
Personal Data is collected only at the moment you choose to contact us and, later, if you engage our Services:
- when you write to us by email, WhatsApp or LinkedIn;
- when you sign a services agreement and the consent form for the processing of Personal Data.
Messages sent through WhatsApp and LinkedIn are also processed by those platforms under their own privacy policies:
- WhatsApp — WhatsApp Privacy Policy;
- LinkedIn — LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
The rest of this policy describes how that Personal Data is processed.
3. Who we are
This website and the advisory services described on it are provided by Maxim Alexeev, an independent college and guidance counselor (Freelance permit 54000796, TRN 105511654300003, Business Center, RAKEZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates) (the “Consultant”, “we”, “us”).
The Consultant acts as a Controller: the Consultant determines the purposes and means of processing Personal Data in connection with the provision of strategic academic positioning and university preparation advisory services (the “Services”).
4. Applicable law
Personal Data is processed in accordance with the applicable data protection laws of the United Arab Emirates, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 Concerning the Protection of Personal Data and its implementing regulations.
5. Categories of Personal Data
Once contact is made or the Services are engaged, the Consultant may process Personal Data of students and their parents or guardians, including but not limited to:
- identification data: full name, passport details, Emirates ID where applicable;
- contact information;
- academic transcripts, school reports and standardized test scores;
- essays, personal statements, résumés, recommendation letters and application materials;
- university selection and strategic planning documents;
- invoicing and payment-related information;
- communications exchanged in connection with the Services.
Sensitive Personal Data is not intentionally collected unless it is voluntarily provided and strictly necessary for academic advisory purposes.
6. Purpose of processing
Personal Data is processed solely for purposes directly related to:
- academic positioning and long-term educational strategy;
- subject and testing strategy planning;
- university and major selection;
- application coordination and coaching;
- communication with universities, testing agencies and relevant third parties;
- administrative, compliance and record-keeping purposes.
No processing incompatible with these purposes takes place.
7. Lawful basis and explicit consent
Processing is based on:
- performance of the services agreement concluded with the client;
- the explicit consent of the client and, for students under 18, of a parent or guardian;
- compliance with applicable legal obligations.
Before the Services begin, clients sign a separate consent form giving clear, informed, specific and unambiguous consent to the processing of Personal Data for the purposes described in this policy.
8. Cross-border transfer of Personal Data
Because university admissions and academic advisory services are international by nature, Personal Data may be transferred, stored, accessed or processed outside the United Arab Emirates, including by:
- universities and educational institutions worldwide;
- standardized testing organizations;
- cloud storage providers and digital service platforms;
- video conferencing and communication platforms.
Such transfers are necessary for the performance of the Services and take place only with the client’s express consent. Third-party institutions and platforms operate under their own independent data protection policies; the Consultant is not liable for their independent processing practices.
9. Data retention
Personal Data may be retained for up to two (2) years following completion or termination of the Services, unless:
- a longer retention period is required by law;
- retention is necessary for dispute resolution;
- earlier deletion is requested in writing.
10. Data security
The Consultant implements reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including:
- secure cloud storage systems;
- password-protected systems;
- restricted access controls;
- secure communication channels.
No electronic system can guarantee absolute security.
11. Rights of the data subject
Subject to applicable law, you may request:
- access to your Personal Data;
- correction of inaccurate data;
- erasure where legally permissible;
- restriction of processing;
- objection to unlawful processing.
Requests must be submitted in writing via the contact details provided on this website.
12. Withdrawal of consent
Consent may be withdrawn at any time by written notice. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal, and may materially limit the Services or make their continuation impossible.
13. Confidentiality
The Consultant treats all Personal Data and academic strategy information as strictly confidential and discloses such information only:
- where necessary for the performance of the Services;
- with prior written authorization;
- where required by law or a competent authority.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
